re:Start Something Good © 2014
As a girl raised by a hard-working single mother, I had to learn to get creative to make things that I wanted. One Christmas, I created a "fireplace" out of paper on the wall so that we could get a visit from Santa. I once found some fake fur fabric and shoe polish and turned it into a Daniel Boone cap for my little brother. Art was always my favorite part of elementary school and I have my most vivid childhood memories of things I created.
Like so many people, life happened and I stopped taking time to foster my creativity. As an adult, I felt the most content when I was creating something. After many years, I finally began to fill the void in my creative soul through upcycled/recycled/reclaimed art after working many years in the recycling field. In 2012, I challenged myself to create something upcycled or reclaimed everyday. Some days were challenging, but looking back, it was one of the most rewarding things I have ever charged myself to do.
After a few moments of talking to me, you will know that my passions are talking to people about recycling, waste prevention and creating! Drop me a line if you want to chat about those things or anything else for that matter!
